The first family to move here stayed for 100 years

Our community name was chosen to reflect the Cooper legacy.

The Cooper family arrived in the area in 1892, looking for good land. They certainly found it in Airdrie, and so began a family legacy in grain farming that lasted more than a century. Born during the very first Stampede in 1912, George Cooper and his wife Eleanor prospered from the land and dedicated themselves to community service.

The Coopers’ pioneering spirit helped Airdrie become the wonderful place it is today. Our community name was chosen to reflect the Cooper legacy. By embracing the past and building for the future, WestMark is dedicated to creating Airdrie’s finest community, a place for families to grow and prosper.
